I’m working with the other Cumbrian MPs to get a major upgrade of the rail line that serves our communities from the west coast mainline at Lancaster to Barrow and the communities along the west Cumbria coast up to Carlisle.
It’s the most beautiful railway line in the country but it’s painfully slow and unreliable. Getting it upgraded is vital to unlocking the potential of our area.
We are now taking an updated business case to Ministers and with the support of both local councils, the civil and nuclear defence industry, and Team Barrow will be making the case strongly for the importance of this investment to our area and the country.
