I am pleased that the ICB have listened to the concerns that have been raised and have agreed to review their decision to stop payment for minor injuries assessment and treatment at GP practices.

It is clear that the decision is a flawed one – particularly for rural areas residents facing significant barriers to accessing hospital services with limited transport options.

I’ve been urging NHS managers to give careful consideration to the unique circumstances faced by our rural communities and I am glad they have taken this on board.

I now ask that they reintroduce the payments for this service for a period whilst their review is undertaken.

You can read about the original decision here.
