Progress Update: Millom, Old Library building

I am really pleased to be able to share progress on the redevelopment of the Old Library building in Millom.

Funding has now been confirmed to transform this well-known building into a modern, flexible workspace for staff from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority group, including Sellafield Ltd.

It’s fantastic to see another important building in Millom town centre being brought back into use. And this is about more than just office space, the hub will benefit Millom town centre, support local jobs, and economic development in Millom and Haverigg.

It was a pleasure to visit the building last week with representatives from the NDA and Sellafield Ltd to hear about the plans. The fit-out is expected to begin next year following finalisation of the design, tender and award of the construction contract. I look forward to seeing it progress.
