I understand people’s anger and frustrations about small boat crossings.
This government cracking down on people who try to jump the queue and enter Britain illegally.
We are making progress:

We’ve returned more than 80,000 people with no right to be here – that’s up 52% to the highest level in a decade

We’ve prevented more than 46,000 people crossing in two years

This July saw the lowest crossing numbers for six years (since 2020)

We’ve brought down the number of small boat crossings significantly – that’s number of people, not the size of the boat

We’re removing small boat migrants at record levels

The French police have stopped 185 small boat crossings in just three months under our new deal with France – stopping over 60% of small boats so that migrants do not reach our shores
But we’re not complacent. We still have an enormous job ahead of us, but it’s one this government tackling head.
