It was amazing to see King Charles formally bestow Royal Charter status on the Port of Barrow to recognise the historic and ongoing significance of the town’s shipyard.
I was honoured to meet him, and I was blown away by the amount of time he took to chat to the huge crowds who turned up to welcome him.
Today also saw the commissioning of HMS Agamemnon, and the steel cutting ceremony for Dreadnought Boat 4.
What a day for our town! I’m so proud of Barrow and the vital work we do here.
