I have had so many complaints over the last few weeks over Christmas about missed bin collections by Westmorland and Furness council in and around Barrow. This is a basic that councils should be getting right. Streets and alleyways are strewn with rubbish because of it. It’s unacceptable.
I recently wrote to WAF council to ask them to put in place a plan that will make sure they won’t let this happen again. I am pleased to see their recent apology to local residents in the local paper, but apologies mean little without an improvement plan.
