I have joined with Labour colleagues in Cumbria to call on the Treasury to make changes to fertiliser tariffs to help bring down costs for Cumbrian farmers.
I welcome the Government’s actions already in reducing fuel duty on red diesel by a third. That decision was the right one, and I believe there is a strong case for building on that action by looking carefully at fertiliser tariffs to provide further targeted relief for British farming.
