Pride in Place for Old Barrow and Hindpool
I’ve secured £20 million from the Government for Central Barrow – that’s £2 million for the next 10 years.
There are very few strings attached: how the money is spent will be decided by the local community.
The programme is aimed to strengthen communities, revitalise local areas, and give residents greater control over their neighbourhoods.
It focuses on improving high streets, public spaces and local services while supporting economic growth and community pride.
The programme includes targeted investment and guidance for selected places, alongside initiatives such as the Pride in Place Impact Fund.
It will to empower local people, enhance quality of life, and ensure towns and communities are attractive, thriving, and sustainable places to live and work.
